02/23/2011 - Joey's Angels Fundraiser
Sweet Joey is two and a half years old, and has endured more than most endure in a lifetime.
He was diagnosed with a brain tumor when he was just five months old. He had surgery to remove it, but unfortunately the tumor was not completely removed.
This past November when surgery was performed once again, the surgeon accidently cut a major sinus leading to Joey's juggler vein. Joey lost a tremendous amount of blood and was not expected to live.
He did! He is a fighter and loves his life with Mommy, Daddy and a new baby sister Stella- not to mention an amazing amount of family and friends- because of the surgery he now has a leak of spinal fluid and developed fungal meningitis.
He is successfully battling the meningitis, and has a shunt inserted in his brain to control the spinal fluid...but it is a long road of extensive anti-fungal medication, equivalent to chemotherapy. He has had four surgeries since November.
As you can imagine, the medical expenses are astronomical...
On February 23, 2011 from 11:00am-10:00pm Beef 'O' Brady's will donate 10% of all proceeds into Joey's medical fund.
