Art in the Heart – Centerville's Biggest Little Art Festival

A Celebration of Art, Music, Food, and Shopping

Art in the Heart was created by the Heart of Centerville Merchant's Association to draw the public into downtown Centerville during the summer months. As a celebration of art, music, food and shopping, it immediately grew an audience as well as favoritism with the public. This year's program will be a first-time partnership with the Centerville Arts Commission that will expand the event to festival status.

Art in the Heart will be held four Saturdays this summer – June 28, July 26, August 30 and September 27 – from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the corner of Main and Franklin in downtown Centerville.

The Centerville Arts Commission will sponsor free musical performances on the Main Stage located outside Joli Boutique, at 27 West Franklin Street. From 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Jim's Red Pants will perform and from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. the Bill Burns Jazz Quartet will perform. Drawings will be held at the top of every hour, in which gift certificate prizes will be awarded from participating merchants.

One dozen fine artists will be displaying their work for show and sell in Artist's Alley outside of Square One Salon and Spa, located at One North Main Street. Dozens of artists are also scheduled to be located in select shops and boutiques in the Heart of Centerville.

A children's activity tent will be hosted outside of Cutie Patooties, located at 63 West Franklin Street from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Free arts and crafts materials will be provided for kids to make-and-take a free art project. Stores will be open extended hours offering in-store specials, refreshments, and art.

The Centerville-Washington Foundation recently awarded the Centerville Arts Commission a $2,000 grant to provide support for Art in the Heart.
